'Mindfulness has helped through this difficult time. I used to think I became stressed when I wasn't in control of a situation. Now I have learned that to be in control of my emotions, I actually have to make a conscious effort not to be in control. To let go and be able to accept things as they are, is the key to being happy and less stressed. Particularly, being able to acknowledge uncomfortable thought and experiences, without feeling the need to push them away has been really useful.'
